The largest non-corporate bookstore in Broward county. The prices here are somewhat higher than thrift stores for books, but the selection here is clean, well organized, and in good condition. The employees here are entirely friendly and helpful. The only small bit that I didn't entirely dig about this bookstore is that they have two prices for softcover books, depending on the size of each book. Small paperbacks were $2 and large paperbacks were $4. I felt sort of taken advantage of when coming to the register and being told that ALL of the paperbacks that I selected were large, ie: $4 books. I was then shown how small a paperback book must be to qualify as a $2 item, and this meant that only tiny pocket size mass market paperbacks here were $2. Afterwards, one of the books that I took home was discovered to have a page removed. This page contained the publisher's information and year of printing. I purchased this book because I believed it to be an original print from the year 1894, and it turned out to be a more modern reprint, with the page containing information about the reprinting removed either by the previous owner, or this store. Again, the employees here seemed nice, but I do not think I will return often given the higher than thrift store prices, along with books having missing pages. No book store should sell a book with missing pages, unless the customer is notified. Very not cool. Regardless, I may or may not return here, but if I do, caution will be exercised. This is just my experience, and I do not deny any good experiences other reviewers may have had here. Three stars. I am neutral about Big Apple Books.
