Our visit to DFS has been a mixed experience. The sales staff are professional and genuinely friendly. We dealt with a consultant Vish was was absolutely excellent, a great guy. However, as with most furnature shops in the UK, the problems start after you have made payment. We paid for half our sofa upfront and were due to pay the remainder on deliver. To me, paying on delivery means on receipt of the goods - otherwise you may as well pay everything on in store. On the day of delivery I received a call from the delivery driver who was 30 mins away, who said we needed to pay immediately or they couldn't deliver the sofa. My wife who was waiting at home called the store but was told to call the Watford branch to make payment - but she couldn't get through. After several calls from the delivery driver my wife was able to pay over the website - panic over, they can now deliver the sofa... BUT IT ARRIVES WITH NO LEGS. For the love of God, a sofa is not a difficult item to get right - ours is a corner sofa, so two peices + the legs. That's three items to put in the delivery van, how can you get that wrong? In fairness to the delivery driver, he managed to arrange some temporary legs but we were told the correct legs would be an 8 week wait?? Having since spoken to the showroom they said they would sort it and it would be only two weeks. That was about three weeks ago and haven't heard anything since. So they have all our money but we only have 2/3rds of our sofa? I am in sales and I feel sorry for the guys who do a good job and sell something that their company then let's the customer down. DFS we would like the rest of our sofa.
