Grand Palais paris France

Grand Palais stole my money. Bought ticket online to an exhibition, but upon arrival we were denied access, because we brought a carry-on backpack and that was not allowed. We got no prior info about this rule in confirmation email or on the tickets. They claimed they had nowhere to store it. We offered the guards that they could search the bags and we also tried finding storage somewhere else in grand palais, When I was allowed inside to ask for a refund, without the bag, it turned out that they actually had available big lockers, but we were not allowed to use them (!). The only solution they had was that we could walk to Gare de Lyon and store it - my girlfriend was on crutches. We asked for refund instead but that was also denied and i was told to write to a generic customer service email. Still no refund received.

I was participating of the Gauging exhibition and it was very busy and Unorganized ... even though I've bought the ticket online I had to wait at the door for more than 45 minutes... So no sense of buying your ticket in advance.

We visited the Gauguin exhibit. Great show, but overwhelmingly extensive. Grand Palais: it's cafe was filled and the bathroom was being cleaned at 13.00 pm, so the lines, that didn't move, were quite long.

I come to the Grand Palais often for Chanel fashion shows and it is always spectacular. It's so amazing how they can transform an empty space into anything that Karl can imagine! It always leaves us breathless.

I saw two exhibitions in one afternoon. I think I enjoyed the Irving Penn one more as it wasn’t as crowded and I could enjoy it a bit more. Gauguin was busy and I felt like the layout was slightly confusing. I’m not sure I saw everything...
