Just cancelled my membership at Hammers with 2 other friends - 3 of my other friends will most likely be cancelling as well. Management sneakily bumped up the prices, despite the contract we all signed agreed on a set rate - the same rate we had all been on for 2 + years. Upon cancelling, we were informed there was a 28 notice period - which means we are STILL going to be charged the higher rate ~ which we did not agree to ~ during this time. Bit ridiculous to be honest - they didn't give us a '28 day notice' on the price increase - if they had we would have cancelled then!! Very sneaky...all we got was "there was an email sent out" - I didn't even get the email, but a one sentence line at the bottom of a newsletter doesn't suffice and certainly isn't enough of a 'notice period'. Happy to take our money elsewhere - but for now would be nice if they AT LEAST charged me my original rate for this period. *FYI fellow gym friends* - Genesis has a 2 for 1 deal at the moment for only $9 pp - and they have more classes! That's where we are headed... Best of luck to those who stay, Brock is the only good, nice and helpful one there!!

An excellent gym with fantastic facilities! Very friendly environment where egos are left at the door. Extremely helpful and friendly staff which are always willing to help me and my friends out no matter what! The classes are all fantastic and the prices are extremely low compared to what other gyms are charging so that's a massive bonus!

Cancelled my gym membership for a number of reasons. Hammers likes to update their procedures and prices without letting their members know. In Feb I tried to suspend my membership for a week. This is a very long story, but in the end it took 6 days of back and forth emails and phone calls for them to suspend my membership. I had to contact them multiple times requesting a form, once submitted they did not accept it, and I had to provide evidence to them! Such a hassle, and this was happening while I was on my holiday as well, it literally got sorted out when I got home. Funny enough, one of my friends called up to suspend his membership over the phone after all this, and he was able to do so on the phone in under 30 seconds. The other main reason was because they raised their prices. If I had of known this I would have cancelled straight away, however they snuck it in to the end of a long promotional email so I only found out after I was billed. I went to the gym to cancel my membership straight away, only to find out that they need “28 days notice” to cancel. Well, I didn’t get 28 days notice of a price rise, so how am I supposed to cancel my membership within 28 days so that I never pay the price rise? Next time you would like to increase your prices, a good way would be to send out a seperate email/text/letter, not trying to sneak it in to the bottom of a promotional email that a small minority will read. One of my friends didn’t even receive it! These are the main reasons that I’m leaving, and 4 of my friends are doing the same. Also they do not receive emails that are not sent through the website, I have tried to tell them about this twice now and they don’t seem to care. Each time staff was very rude and nothing has been done to fix it. Because of this, one of my suspension forms wasn’t processed and I was billed for two weeks that I thought were suspended, (and billed at the higher rate too). Brock and Jayden are the only helpful staff members, thank you to them. Besides them, staff needs to learn basic customer service skills.

Fantastic gym! This gym offers a wide range of different classes, the actual venue is huge and the gym equipment as well as the fighting equipment is great! I would say it's the best gym in the eastern suburbs for sure!
