Never mind that the Hilton at Green Park, London needs to be refurbished and updated, there is an ever-present sense that it cares very little about its guests. I don’t mean its staff members, who are well trained enough. What I refer to is what the establishment has seen fit to offer, or deny, its guests. From the stealthy absence of a refrigerator, to the sub-standard linen and basement-bargain facial tissues, everything about this establishment screams “budget”. And all this, while it hangs its Hilton banner high at its Mayfair address. One might even go so far as to think that it’s living out its last days, squeezing the last penny out of those who think they can place their trust in the brand. It is rather a shame, in more ways than one. p.s. Haven’t used the bed, and found one of our pillows stained (hair dye?) and with a piece of hair on it. UPDATE: We moved across the street to the Flemings after just one night. And what a difference it was! Won’t say more here. My five star Fleming’s review will be posted separately.
