Hôtel Régina Opéra Grand Boulevard**** paris France

While the overall stay at this hotel was enjoyable, it is not the experience you would expect from a hotel of this price and this is why I only give it two stars. Positives: The rooms were clean and the hotel was located close to the metro and some good restaurants. The decor was nice, with a backlit mural above the bed and the staff was quite friendly as they gave us the missing TV remote for our room. The negatives: As we arrived, the room smelled stuffy and like severely stagnant air. They would not change it for us. When we tried to turn on the ventilation or air conditioning, the unit would not respond. Again when we asked about this, they told us that they purposefully turn off the unit, so if you want to have AC, you need to let the front desk know. The rooms's smell was probably from lack of ventilation. If you are a light sleeper, this hotel is not for you. The walls are thin and you can hear people walking around and talking in the other rooms. The location also does not seem family friendly, you feel a little unsafe when you come back in the evening.

A great value hotel in Paris that's close to metro stops and other sights. Clean and modern rooms with very nice bathrooms. Staff spoke English and was very friendly & helpful

The hotel is in a very busy area & so it is very accessible & close to the Metro station. The overhead rain shower was just too good... very refreshing! The Room was very small, but did the job... No A.C. in the room, but probably don't need it in Paris. The elevator was a bit touchy as to when it worked. Did not eat breakfast so can't comment. Overall, Paris hotel prices are very high... but I still did not feel this was good value for the money... There are positives though so choose if you are looking for some of those...
