5/ 5

This was our second trip to the museum, yet I found myself planning another excursion once we left. It's easy to spend an entire day here, particularly if you enjoy reading the detailed placards that accompany each item on display. If you are lucky, you may be treated to live music, Native American dancing, or a cultural demonstration. Don't miss the sculptures outside! Gift shops and restaurant are nice.

4/ 5

This is a good museum of the first American peoples. There are a lot of good displays and some great history. There is an area for kids where they can play and touch things while they learn about history. Didn't get a chance to taste the food but it really looked delicious! Definitely worth a stop if the American Indian is something you are interested in!

4/ 5

Overall, this museum does a fantastic job attempting to showcase the many different cultures and histories of Native Americans. Unfortunately it has so much to cover that it rarely goes into depth. It makes excellent points on a variety of subjects, but leaves those ideas hanging without further tying them in to a more cohesive narrative. The exhibit on the American commercialization of Native names and symbols, however, is beyond excellent and is a highlight of the museum.

This is a very attractive building with good exhibition spaces and a good (but expensive) cafeteria.

4/ 5

This is a very attractive building with good exhibition spaces and a good (but expensive) cafeteria. On this visit I especially liked the exhibit on the Inca empire focusing on their system of roads connecting the various cities and regions. In contrast the exhibit called simply The Americans was interesting but failed to make a coherent point or express a coherent perspective.

5/ 5

Fantastic museum with great design. Check out the audio tours and information about the architecture, worth while. Inside you start at the top floor, it does make a difference, and then work your way down. Great rotating exhibits and ones that are part of the permanent collection. The cafeteria is worth a visit, great options representing different native populations. Definitely pricey, but some decent priced options are available.
