Bought a baby rabbit on 19/12 and it had to get put to sleep last week at only 23 weeks old. It had seen their vet twice for a health check, one at Stirling and one at Falkirk as he was due to be neutered. Took him in last Monday to get neutered only for the 3rd vet to find he had very severe dental disease. He was sent to the animal hospital in Edinburgh for a specialist to look at. They done a CT scan and advised he could not be operated on. The vet in Edinburgh advised his jaw had "exploded due to his teeth not growing properly" his jaw then healed itself and was full of abscesses. We were advised he would have been in horrible pain and that it was a condition he had been born with, and the worst case the vet had ever seen. Phoned the Stirling store and spoke to the manager Lisa who offered for me to go in and pick another rabbit which i think is appalling and makes you think they do not care about their animals. Head office are dealing with this now so will see what happens. The vet in Edinburgh had advised that if it had been caught earlier enough he could have been saved. She also advised there is a good chance that their other bunnies have this if they are bought from the same breeder mines was.
