I stayed in one of the bunk houses with a group of friends and we had a great time! The facilities are basic, but exactly as described on the website. Everything was very clean and in good working order. That includes the private toilet and shower facilities in each room. The bunks were comfortable, with adequate room for four people top and bottom. The only down side of note was the lack of recycling bins which was a bit surprising. Be prepared to take your recycling home with you if you don't want it to go into landfill! The proximity to the Hope cement works (see on Google maps) was notable, but didn't really detract at all. There's a gently hum, but no worse than distant A road. It does dominate the landscape somewhat, but other than that, the scenery is stunning. The village of Castleton is only a 20 minute walk away and has a least three pubs. We ate at The Castle one night and it was excellent. All in all, a very pleasant stay. I would recommend.
