Great paved hike option that beginners like me can handle! Beautiful cityscape views towards the top! Lots of dogs but fewer children than other hiking trails I've been on. Wish there were public restrooms nearby. Overall, a nice workout option for Hollywood residents and visitors alike!

What little of nature was in Runyon was made even less by the paving of the main trail. Serious error using asphalt, as it absorbs heat and Runyon is for dogs. I hope whoever made that decision is forced to walk barefoot on it in the summer. Stupid planning by our parks department. And, they planted a whole 8 trees during the renovation. Very generous for the most popular park in L.A. that has no shade on its trail. One plus - they put in a few water fountains. Fun to watch some walkers overly made up for exercise.

Great hiking trails and depending on what time of day it's not too crowded. There is a section that's very steep on the East Trail with old railroad ties as stairs and unfortunately a lot of people get to the top of that section and then just come right back down and they tend to be inconsiderate of those that are climbing up. Just be careful. Also, even though they do have water fountains along the paths it is smart to bring water. Dehydration can set quickly, so you should always carry water with you.

Loved our walk up the hiking trail! Probably should have lift the summit a rich earlier so as it wasn't so Darryl on decent but that added to the fun really. A lot of people were walking AVG running this area so felt very safe at all times, even in the dark.

Love the trails even though they kill me with the incline but I still manage to finish it hehehe. Beautiful view. Breathe taking when you go early morning. It's a beautiful place to hike if you like extreme hiking. It will drain you there's a lot of different trails and I love it.
