The Getty los-angeles USA

Spectacular complex, fascinating architecture, excellent displays, wonderful experience overall. This place is really a can't miss experience if you're around the LA basin. From the cool tram that takes you from the parking lot up the hill to the center, to the stunning views (not too smoggy when we were there) of LA, everything is awesome about this place. The displays are way too many to cover in one day, so pick and choose what intrigues you most. I was impressed by the monumental architecture, and the interior of the various wings. We experienced the Egypt special exhibit which was brilliantly laid out with an excellent selection of artifacts. We had lunch at the main cafeteria - the food was much better than I expected! The gardens and landscaping are also highlights. We will be coming back to the Getty again next time we're in the LA area.

Been here twice and planning to visit as much as I possibly can. The museum's constant changing exhibits are just wonderful and educational. We love to take our time looking at various displays knowing we can always come back another day. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes because you will cover a lot of hard surface not counting stairs. You can bring snacks and water but they have restaurants to choose from. On a clear day you can see downtown LA and the ocean. Very observant staff but friendly.

An excellent and amazingly beautiful art experience, truly a sight to gift to ones self. It must be seen to be fully engulfed with appreciation to the finer aspects of life. If you enjoy any form of art there will be something for everyone to enjoy. From sculptures to oil painting galore there is something throughout our centuries compiled into one amazing place. A few days here is an endearing experience. I will return!

Although I think art is cool, I don't enjoy looking at other people's scribble scrabble and believing that it's amazing. They even tell you, art is how you see it. Well I see it as a scam. I can scribble and pour paint buckets all over a tarp and call it art, maybe you'll see it as something else. But aside from my opinion, I enjoyed The Getty for the many reasons many others did; the outside structure of the actual buildings and the beautiful views of LA. The only thing I realized is that the limestone used to build the actual Getty was far more pretty than any other brick out there . In fact, I want my next house built out of that limestone. Other than that, the artwork means nothing to me. I still enjoyed the experience and the garden setting, and I think you will too. Parking was free. Food and snack booths are available but not so cheap. Take a good camera and go.

This is an excellent museum and the works of art they have a very nice and just look amazing. It's also a plus that there's no admission but you only pay for parking which I really a great deal if you come with a bunch of people. The staff is very helpful with pointing you into direction of certain areas you might be wanted to go. Be careful when looking at some of the work as some art pieces you need to say arms length aways, which is totally fine.
