The park is huge and beautiful, with several fountains, orchards and so on. The lake with the temple island on its center is very scenic, and you can rent a boat if you want. You can easily walk/bike there. Perfect getaway from the city center (although it’s really close to the city center)

I had read that Villa Borghese was a nice park to visit for an hour or two. We ended up spending a whole afternoon and another morning to explore it all. Its gardens are extremely large, the first day we rented a four person bike and while it was really fun I don't recommend it as you can't see everything with it. I highly recommend that you visit the Lake and rent a boat for 20 minutes. It's really nice and you get the feeling that you are someplace magical. We really enjoyed our time in villa borghese and I highly recommend you go there!

Good place to explore and rent bikes/multi-passenger 4-wheeled buggies. Pond with rowboats to rent.

Good place to explore and rent bikes/multi-passenger 4-wheeled buggies. Pond with rowboats to rent. No real garbage or needles that I saw, and had somehow expected in a public park in a big city. Vendors with gelato and snacks. We didn’t see the villa itself or do any sort of tour. It was busy with people renting bikes on a Sunday, but the line moved quickly. Lots of trees and grass, paths. Benches need replaced; many of them have rotten wood and are falling apart/unsafe.

Take the guided tour if you can. If you come 30 minutes earlier you can buy tickets here, they are much cheaper than on the Web and there won't be any queue, especially compared to cut the line tickets. Check in the bags immediately if you can and take a walk around the garden nearby while waiting, otherwise there's a queue for baggage check-in later. The audio tour is 5e and guided tour with art historian is 6e. Our guide was a good story teller, and she's very happy to answer any question too.

It's a beautiful park with plenty of places to go. There's a museum, nice fountains, and food trucks to eat at. The trees also give lots of shade to keep you cool and the whole place just makes you peaceful and happy.
